Wax Resist activities are one of the most magical art crafts for young kids. Kids are fascinated by the resist factor of the wax crayons against the watercolors and will be enamored with the results!
This Valentine’s Day, make these homemade cards that are sure to impress!
Here is what you’ll need for this craft:
- White RoseArt Crayon
- RoseArt Watercolor Paints
- RoseArt Paint Brushes
- RoseArt Glue Stick
- White Watercolor Paper
- Red Construction Paper
As you start this craft, you can explain to kids that the wax from the crayons repels the paint that is brushed over it. It teaches them that wax and oil do not mix!
Start by cutting your white watercolor paper into small squares, approximately 4”x4”. Take your white RoseArt Crayon and write a message or draw a Valentine’s Day design onto the paper. It may be hard to visualize at first, but the results will be amazing!
Now, take your RoseArt Watercolor Paints and lightly paint over your Valentine’s Day design. Make sure to use several colors and color the paper entirely. Now you will see your beautiful design come to life!
Once the paint is dried entirely, glue onto the red construction paper. You can write an additional message on the back if you’d like! Have a Happy Valentine’s Day, and happy crafting!
