Here is a simple craft idea to make your very own custom t-shirt using RoseArt crayons!
Here is what you’ll need to start:
- RoseArt crayons
- White t-shirt
- Iron and ironing board
- Parchment paper
With the holiday coming up, I wanted to get in the spirit and make a St. Patrick’s Day themed t-shirt, with rainbows and four-leaf clovers. I grabbed all of the green and rainbow colored crayons to get rolling.
From there, I colored my design onto the sandpaper. I went over the sandpaper twice to ensure the design would transfer to the t-shirt without any problems. As a heads up, the design will be reversed on the t-shirt. I learned this the hard way!
Now…the fun part! Get your ironing board ready and set your iron to warm. Please be careful! Take your t-shirt, and place a piece of cardboard inside to keep the design from bleeding through the shirt. Then, place the sandpaper right side down, flush with the cardboard.
Gently press the iron onto the sandpaper and hold for 30-45 seconds. Check one edge to see if the design has spread on the t-shirt evenly. Once the design is set, remove the sandpaper and allow the t-shirt to cool. **To protect your iron, I recommend placing a piece of parchment paper on top of the sandpaper as the colors may bleed**
Place the shirt in the dryer for 20 minutes to allow the colors to set. Once the t-shirt is ready to be washed, please be sure to place the t-shirt in the laundry on its own the first time.
Have fun, and be creative! And Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
