Getting ready to throw away your old, tattered and torn books? Stop right there! Here’s your chance to turn old books into a work of art using your RoseArt Watercolors! This fun and unique craft will transform old pages into a beautiful bouquet of flowers.
You only need a few materials for this craft:
- RoseArt Watercolors
- RoseArt Paint Brushes
- RoseArt School Glue
- Old Book
- Florist Wire
To start, rip pages from your old book. Then, mix your RoseArt Watercolors and water and paint the pages entirely – both the front and the back.
I painted four pages per flower, so be sure to paint as many pages as you need! Also, place a newspaper below the surface where you are painting to keep your desk or countertop clean. Allow the pages to dry fully before moving forward.
From there, cut several petal shapes from the pages. I found that the petals were very stiff once they were dry. I carefully crinkled the petals, and then straightened them so they were easier to work with.
Now it’s time to create your flower! Take each individual petal and layer one on top of the other. Be sure to pinch the bottom to create a curved shape.
Secure the petals together using your RoseArt School Glue. Finally, insert a florist wire to the bottom of the flower to act as a stem.
Add several different colored flowers to your bouquet. It’s a great gift idea or unique decoration for your house!
