Light up your summer nights with these homemade Crayon Candles! With only six items and a few simple steps, you can create your very own color block crayon candles.
To start, gather your supplies:
- RoseArt Crayons
- Dixie Cups
- Candle Wax
- Candle Wicks
- Glass Votives
- Stirring Sticks
Start by creating a base for your candle. Pour a small amount of wax into your Dixie cup and microwave for one minute. Pour the hot wax into the bottom of the glass votive and place the wick at the base of the candle. Allow the wax to dry completely.
Now start making the wax for your candle! Choose your favorite RoseArt crayon colors and break them into a few pieces. I chose three different colors for each candle.
Next, fill your Dixie cup with wax and the crayons, but only allow one color per cup.
This time, microwave the cups for two minutes each. When done, stir, then microwave for another two minutes.
Start pouring the wax into the votive with the wick.
You can layer the colors on an angle, or stacked one on top of the other. Have fun with it! Be sure to let each layer dry 20-30 minutes. Once you have all layers in the votive, allow the candle to dry at least one hour before lighting. As a finishing touch, cut the wick to be even with the height of the candle…then you are all set!
Not only are these candles great decorative pieces around the house, it is also a great a great gift idea to share with friends and loved ones!
