Do you have any children’s birthdays coming up? Why not make a cute accent piece for any girl’s room! In today’s craft project, we show you how to create a Butterfly Collage! Below are the instructions and supplies needed for this crafty collage:
- RoseArt Watercolor Paints
- RoseArt Tempera Paints or Poster Paints
- RoseArt Paint Brushes
- RoseArt School Glue
- Purple Heavy Stock Paper (or any color for your base!)
- White Watercolor Paper
- Butterfly Paper Punch – you can find this at your favorite craft store or online!
Start by painting several colors of your Tempera or Poster Paints onto the Watercolor Paper. You can also substitute RoseArt Broadline Markers if that works better for you. If you use paints, put on an extra coat of paint so the colors are nice and vibrant!
Next, use a small amount of your RoseArt Watercolors to fill in the white spots on the page. I accidently blended some of the colors together with the Watercolors, but those blended colors ended up being some of my favorite butterflies as you will later see!
Once completed, allow the paint to dry completely.
Now, take your Butterfly Paper Punch and punch out several butterflies.
To keep the butterfly look, gently fold the middle to create a wing effect.
*Here is one of the butterflies with the blended colors. Doesn’t it look awesome?
Use your RoseArt School Glue to adhere the middle of the butterfly onto your heavy stock paper. Put as many butterflies onto the paper as you see fit.
As a finishing touch, I bought a white frame and placed the collage inside. Doesn’t it look great? I can’t wait to give it as a gift soon!
